Description
The HS-81 is an Inquilabstani third-generation main battle tank in production since 1981. Named in honor of the famed General Hamid Singh, the HS-81 was Inquilabstan's first armored vehicle designed with the intention of being comparable if not superior to the armored vehicles of its neighbors instead of being easy to mass produce.
The HS-81 featured an externally mounted 125mm smoothbore gun and a completely automated autoloader capable of carrying up to 32 APFSDS sabots, HEAT rounds, HE Plastic rounds and/or tube-fired ATGMs. The HS-81 was nicknamed the UFO due to the number of technologies that went into its constructions such as computerized stabilized fire control systems to allow accurate fire on the move, 12 CCTV cameras mounted around the turret to provide the gunner and the commander with 360° of vision while sitting in the lower section of the turret, an automated 14.5mm machine gun which can track and intercept incoming missiles and rocket-propelled grenades, and the ability to allow the commander to fire the main gun allowing the crew requirement of the tank to drop to two should the need arise.

In addition to its thick frontal armor, the HS-81 features several large slabs of explosive reactive armor on its lower glacis as well as on its sides. Cage armor has been installed over the engine compartment to prevent damage from shaped charges. However despite having over a meter of effective armor on its upper glacis, the turret is extremely weak and relies on its low profile to avoid losing the gun. as a result the gun has poor gun depression.
